Dundee boss Paul Hartley admitted his team are “in trouble” after going down 2-0 at home to Partick Thistle last night.
The bottom-of-the-table Dark Blues lost for the sixth time in a row, this to a team that had been just above them in the table before kick-off.
Goals in each half from Ade Azeez and Kris Doolan secured what was too comfortable a victory for the Jags from a Dundee perspective.
It leaves them stuck on just six points and without a victory in the league since August 6 – the opening day of the Premiership campaign.
Hartley said: “It was the same old, same old story and not a good enough performance.
“OK, we had a better spell in the first half but the goals we conceded – it’s not good enough.
“The first goal was a free header. For the second, we had three chances to clear our lines.
“So it was a free header and an open goal and that’s not good enough.
“It is a problem all over the whole team.
“When we lost that first goal we looked a bit fragile. That has to change.
“We are in trouble. The points tally isn’t enough and we are in a battle.”
Hartley was asked if he feels under pressure given the team’s woeful winless run.
He replied: “Every time you lose, you’ve got to feel pressure. We’ve all got to take responsibility – myself, the staff and the players.
“We’ve got to have the characters in the dressing room to get out of this. We’ve got to.
“We’ve got to start producing and battling. We’re not doing that right now.”
The Dundee boss conceded that Thistle just seemed more up for the battle.
He said: “Yeah, they were better than us tonight in every department.
“We’ve got to produce something now. We’re not producing and we need to start.
“Now we have one of the toughest away fixtures coming up (away to Hamilton on Saturday).
“We have to pick a team that can fit and scrap to get a win.
“It’s about mentality. Sometimes you just forget ability. It’s all about attitude and digging out a result out of somewhere.”
Hartley was then asked if he is getting more and more concerned about the club’s situation.
He replied: “Am I worried? You’ve got to worry about where the next win is coming from.
“When you’ve gone so long without a win, of course you worry.
‘We have got to find one – and we’ve got to find it quick.”
