Dundee manager Paul Hartley admitted his “off the pace” team fell short of their best in their defeat to Kilmarnock. The Dark Blues had chances to get back into the match in the second half but Hartley had no complaints with the 2-0 scoreline. He said: “We had a couple of point-blank headers we should have done better with, but overall we weren’t at our best today. “I’ve not really got any complaints. The players over the past five or six weeks have been excellent. “In these games there’s not a lot between the seven or eight clubs at the bottom. There’s going to be times where it doesn’t go as well for us. “I felt we were off the pace. We didn’t win enough second balls dropping down. “Give credit to Kilmarnock, the way they pressed us all over the pitch. We just weren’t at our best, it’s pretty simple.”
