Dundee boss Paul Hartley boosted by injury-free squad

Dundee boss Paul Hartley should have a full squad to choose from for Saturday’s crunch clash with Kilmarnock at Dens.

The Dark Blues have yet to record a victory in 2017 after the winter break with defeat in the Scottish Cup to St Mirren being followed by a loss at Aberdeen in the league and then a draw up in Inverness last weekend.

Dundee looked to have returned to winning ways in the Highlands when they stormed into a two-goal lead only to be pegged back with the manager and players admitting the draw felt like a defeat.

However, having regrouped, Hartley has revealed he has no injury concerns ahead of the Killie game.

The manager, who took charge at Dens three years ago on Sunday, said: “Everyone is fine which is a boost.”

Dundee’s match against Lee Clark’s side is the only Premiership fixture this weekend because of the Scottish Cup.

A home win would propel the Dark Blues up to sixth and open up a five-point gap on Hamilton who are currently sitting in the relegation play-off spot at the foot of the table.

Kilmarnock lost star man Souleymane Coulibaly to Egyptian side Al Ahly for a fee in the region of £800,000 during the transfer window but Clark brought in seven others including former Rugby Park favourite Conor Sammon on loan from Hearts.

Saturday will also be the first chance for the home fans at Dens to see Hartley’s two recent additions Henrik Ojamaa and Marc Klok.

The former played from the start against Inverness while the latter came off the bench in the 83rd minute for a brief cameo.

Meanwhile, several first-team regulars turned out for the Dundee development side at Station Park against St Johnstone yesterday afternoon with Nick Ross, Faissal El Bakhtaoui, Danny Williams and Craig Wighton – who netted twice – all getting game time in the match which finished 3-1 in the Dark Blues’ favour.
