Dundee boss Paul Hartley has resigned himself to being without Julen Etxabeguren for at least the next six months. The big centre-half had to be stretchered off last week against Partick at Dens before being rushed to hospital. Initial fears that he had ruptured his Achilles have now all but been confirmed and the Spaniard is set to have an op later this week. Hartley said: “Julen will probably have surgery on Thursday and he is looking at six months out. “We believe it is ruptured so he is away down to see the surgeon and is pencilled in for Thursday. “It is a big blow for Jules and us as he has been doing well.”
