At the start of the season, Dundee and Partick Thistle were the teams to beat in the Championship.
They were favourites to battle it out for promotion but things haven’t gone to plan so far with the teams sitting in fifth and sixth place.
Both have had good spells but head into Saturday’s second meeting of the season in clear need of a morale-boosting victory.
Ian McCall’s men have been in dreadfully poor form of late, losing their last four matches on the bounce and conceded 15 goals in the process.
Gary Bowyer’s side, meanwhile, have fared better but have registered just one victory in their last five league games.
This is a massive, massive game for both sides.
The good news for Dundee is, though, they have enjoyed trips to Firhill of late.
In the last 10 away games at Partick Thistle, the Dark Blues have won six and lost just twice.
Across the last seven seasons, both outfits have hit the heights of the Premiership top six and then suffered relegation, Thistle down to League One recently.
But Firhill has been a happy hunting ground for Dundee during the last decade – today Courier Sport has a look at some of the best moments:
Partick Thistle 0-1 Dundee – December 21, 2019
Former Dees of varying legacies lined up against their old side in Gary Harkins, Kenny Miller and Scott Fox in the early days of McCall’s second tenure at Firhill.
James McPake’s Dee were yet to find their feet as they tried to rebuild following relegation under Jim McIntyre just a few months previous.
This was a much-needed win with Graham Dorrans impressing in midfield. It was Paul McGowan, though, who grabbed the all-important goal, nicking in to turn home a Kane Hemmings cross.
Victory left the Dark Blues in fourth while Thistle trailed in ninth spot.
Partick Thistle 1-2 Dundee – February 17, 2018
The last top-flight visit to Firhill saw Dundee in trouble and needing a win.
Up stepped Simon Murray to deliver his most memorable moment in a dark blue shirt.
Nil-nil with six minutes to go, Murray was in the right place to turn in an AJ Leitch-Smith effort before he popped up again to head home a rebound after Steven Caulker’s shot was saved.
That was Murray’s first goals as a Dundee player and set off jubilant celebrations in the away end.
Partick Thistle 1-2 Dundee – April 23, 2016
The Jags would register two victories on the spin at home to Dundee across 2016 and 2017.
But Dundee enjoyed themselves in Maryhill in 2015/16 as they registered three Premiership victories at Firhill.
They would fall short of repeating their sixth-place finish of the previous campaign but Kane Hemmings and Greg Stewart were still doing the business.
It was Hemmings this time who made the difference, bringing out the famous binoculars celebration as he netted a brace.
Partick Thistle 2-4 Dundee – January 16, 2016
The Dark Blues ran riot in the opening 15 minutes of this one. A Hemmings penalty, a Stewart classic and a Harkins strike all came inside the opening quarter of an hour.
Harkins was in inspiring form and would add a classy second in the snow before the break as Dundee went in 4-1 to the good.
Kris Doolan would grab a consolation in stoppage time but Alan Archibald’s men were well and truly beaten.
That win saw Paul Hartley’s side move up to sixth, opening up a five-point gap on Thistle.
