EXCLUSIVE: Dundee lining up move for Colchester United’s Luke Hannant

Dundee are lining up a move for Colchester United’s Luke Hannant.

Courier Sport understands the versatile 29-year-old, who can play as a winger and in midfield, has been given the go-ahead to leave the English League Two side and head north to strengthen Gary Bowyer’s promotion bid.

Hannant is expected to join the Dark Blues on loan and will join U’s team-mate Ryan Clampin at Dens Park for the remainder of the season.

He has played 29 times for Colchester this term, scoring three goals, but has been used as a late substitute in recent weeks.

Hannant is two-footed and can play on either wing or in central midfield.

The Englishman spent two years with Cambridge United before joining Colchester and turned out for Port Vale in League Two between 2017 and 2019.

It looks set to be a busy deadline day at Dens Park, with Zak Rudden heading to St Johnstone and Brighton striker Lorent Tolaj expected to also complete a loan deal.
