Dundee have a mixed bag of injury news ahead of this weekend’s trip to Arbroath.
Manager Gary Bowyer may be able to welcome back a couple of absentees this week while there is hope Zach Robinson will be available too.
The on-loan striker was forced off against Hamilton Accies on Saturday after a clash of heads with Fergus Owens.
A key player, Robinson remains the club’s top goalscorer in the league and Bowyer will give the AFC Wimbledon man every chance to be available.
He said: “Zach is OK, he was a bit shaken up but he’s OK. We’ll just have to see how he goes this week.”
Williamson, Anderson and Kerr
Ben Williamson missed the 7-0 rout at the weekend but is expected back in training this week while Cammy Kerr did train on Monday after a spell out with an ankle knock.
Max Anderson, however, is expected to be out for a couple of weeks while striker Lorent Tolaj has returned to parent club Brighton to get his Achilles tendon issue assessed.
On Williamson, Bowyer said: “Ben got a cut on his ankle and it got infected so there was a bit of swelling there that ruled him out.
“That was disappointing but we expect him to be back in training this week.
“Cammy Kerr joined training on Monday which was good so we’ll see how he is for the rest of the week.
“Max unfortunately picked up a knee injury. There was nobody near him but he turned and felt a bit of pain.
“So we’ve sent him for a scan and we’ll have to wait till that settles down to see how it is.
“He might be a week or two.”
Confidence
The rest of the squad, meanwhile, could have been “skipping” into training such was the mood after a 7-0 win at the weekend.
Spirits were high and Bowyer is keen to build on the confidence generated by Saturday’s performance.
But keeping feet on the ground is also key.
“I can’t recall a win like that as a manager before, we had a 5-1 at Salford and a five at Blackburn,” Bowyer added.
“All season we’ve talked about the chances we’ve created but not taken. There are statistics for everything these days but the one for chances created sees us at the top.
“So we’ve always threatened to score more goals. I’m just delighted it call came together on Saturday.
“You can imagine the buzz around the place when everyone came into training on Monday. After a result like that, people are skipping into work.
“It’s fantastic to have that feeling coming in.
‘Areas to improve’
“It’s done great for confidence and people getting among the goals but there will be no getting carried away here.
“It is one victory and we’ve worked on the philosophy of one game at a time all season. We don’t get too high when we win, don’t get too despondent when we lose.
“The fans can get carried away, though! It’s been great to see so many people enjoying the game and I’ve had people coming up to me to say what a good result.
“But I think there are still areas where we can improve and we’re working on that.”
Meanwhile, the club are still waiting for news on Pierre Reedy’s paperwork to complete the signing of the American at Dens Park.
