Former St Johnstone and Dundee United defender Graham Gartland is in line to be new Dundee manager Neil McCann’s number two.
Courier Sport understands that significant changes are going to be made to the Dens Park coaching set-up, with Paul Hartley’s assistant manager Gerry McCabe moving on.
With an extensive contact list in the game, McCann has a number of possible replacements he could turn to but Gartland is leading the race.
The Irishman started out with United as a young player but didn’t make a first team breakthrough at Tannadice. He was a Derek McInnes signing at St Johnstone before returning home.
Gartland is currently a youth coach with Shamrock Rovers and has his Uefa A Licence coaching qualification.
McCann is also set to make changes to the youth development coaching set-up.
