Charlie Adam’s Dundee ‘homecoming’ won’t be happening anytime soon.
With Dark Blues’ fans lapping up the news of their first two signings of the summer – Scott Allan and Roarie Deacon – they were teased by the prospect of fellow supporter Adam coming to Dens Park to make it a hat-trick.
The Stoke City midfielder fired up the social media speculation by tweeting :”I’m coming home, I’m coming home. Tell the world that I’m coming home…”
But the tweet was later deleted, and this morning he has since distanced himself from it by posting: “This tweet I’ve been sent was not posted by me … ??”
Adam still has a year to run on his Stoke contract and got plenty of game-time for Mark Hughes’ side last season.
The 31-year-old has already made a one-off appearance for Dundee, in Crystal palace keeper Julian Speroni’s testimonial two years ago.
