Dundee will give trialist duo Crescendo van Berkel and Nils Rutten game time in tonight’s friendly against St Mirren.
Van Berkel (25), who was with Telstar in the Eerste Divi in the Netherlands last season, will get a runout against the Buddies in Paisley as manager Neil McCann decides whther or not to offer him a contract.
Also taking part will be German trialist Rutten, with the former Borussia Monchengladbach defensive midfielder also having shown up well in early pre-season training.
Dens boss McCann said: “I’m excited about the game and there will be two 45 minutes of two different teams.
“We are able to rotate the squad and give everyone a chance.
“We have a couple of trialists coming in and we will see how they perform and if they offer something to the squad.
“Discounting goalkeeper Scott Bain, Crescendo van Berkel will play more minutes than the rest and it will give him a chance to shine.
“He can play left centre back, right centre back and he can also play left back.
“He will maybe provide us with a bit of cover there.
“I’m having a look at him and we also have Nils Rutten over from Borussia Monchengladbach, who will play 45 minutes. He comes very highly regarded.”
