Dundee manager Neil McCann has made signing a new striker his priority as he continues the build-up to the big kick-off.
McCann, who takes his side up the A90 to play Brechin at Glebe Park tonight in their penultimate pre-season friendly, is continuing his player search.
If he can get the frontman he wants that would be his sixth new face of the summer.
The Dens boss said: “I think we could be doing with another bit of firepower up top.
“We have Marcus Haber and Faissal El Bakhtaoui there as natural goalscorers, as well as boys like Roarie Deacon, Scotty Allan and Paul McGowan, who can play just in behind.
“But we could be doing with one more.”
McCann is expected to give trialist midfielder Glen Kamara another outing tonight against City.
Crescendo van Berkel has returned to the Netherlands, while Nils Rutten has gone back to Germany.
Meanwhile, it is understood that the dispute over a financial severance package between Dundee and former manager Paul Hartley is to be settled out of court.
