Kerr Waddell’s aerial power will be a “massive” asset for Dundee this season and beyond, according to Paul McGowan.
The experienced midfielder picked out 19-year-old Waddell for his second headed goal of the game against Hearts on Saturday that clinched a dramatic stoppage time victory for the Dark Blues.
“He’s terrific,” said McGowan. “Any ball in the air he just goes for it and eats it up.
“For a young kid that’s a fantastic attribute.
“If he can keep going like this he’s going to have a bright future at Dundee.
“It’s massive to have a threat like that at set-pieces.
“He’s still learning and will make mistakes but I’ll take him in my team all day long.
“I wasn’t even meant to take the corner. It was the gaffer who said. I can’t remember the last time I took one.
“I’ve put it on Kerr’s head and he’s done the hard part by putting it in the back of the net.”
