The Dundee players are determined to beat Celtic today for their manager, according to midfielder Mark O’Hara.
Eddie McCann, the father of the Dark Blues’ boss, died on the day of their 1-1 draw with Motherwell.
The team wore black armbands at Fir Park and now they want to secure three points against the league leaders as another tribute.
“It shows how strong he is (that he was at the game on Saturday),” said O’Hara. “He’s been brilliant.
“We wanted to get the result for him and his dad but we weren’t quite able to do it.
“It would be good to get a big result (against Celtic) for him and his family. It would mean a lot to us and we’d love to repay him on Tuesday.”
Meanwhile, O’Hara, who is out of contract in the summer and is being tracked by other Premiership clubs, has revealed talks about extending his stay at Dens have begun.
“It’s very early days,” said the former Kilmarnock man. “The manager spoke to me last week. I’m happy where I am just now and I’m just focusing on every game as it comes.
“But talks have started and hopefully something will be resolved soon.”
