Dundee boss Neil McCann will be in the stand when the Dark Blues take on Hearts at Dens Park on Sunday.
McCann will also sit out the away match against Celtic the following Wednesday after being handed a two-game ban by the SFA yesterday.
He will then return to the dugout for the clash against Rangers at Ibrox a week tomorrow – the final fixture before the Premiership splits in two.
McCann was served a notice of complaint by the governing body following a bust-up with St Johnstone’s substitute goalkeeper Zander Clark at the end of the meeting of the two sides at Dens on March 10, which the Perth men won 4-0.
The Dundee manager was called to Hampden to face the disciplinary panel yesterday to answer a charge of “excessive misconduct” and found out his fate later that evening.
Clark was also summoned to the national stadium and received a two-match ban for his part in the fracas. He will miss Saints’ game against Aberdeen tomorrow and then the clash with Motherwell.
As a player, the starting point for Clark’s punishment under the excessive misconduct rule 202 – no player shall commit excessive misconduct at a match –Â is set out as four matches. However, it is understood that by admitting his role in the rammy that resulted in the sentence being cut in half.
As a manager, McCann’s case was heard under rule 203 – no member of team staff shall commit misconduct at a match – and as the offence was deemed to be at the lower end of the scale he picked up the mandatory two-game ban.
