Dundee knock back record bid for Steven Caulker, according to Neil McCann

Dundee manager Neil McCann has insisted that a club record bid has been knocked back for Steven Caulker.
The Scandinavian transfer window doesn’t shut until tomorrow and an offer for the former Liverpool and Spurs defender has arrived from that part of Europe, according to McCann.
And, if it had been accepted, it would have topped the ÂŁ1.2 million received for Rab Douglas.
“There has been a substantial bid,” said McCann.
“It’s got to the stage where it well exceeds the club record fee we have received for a player – but it’s been knocked back. Well over a million.
“I’m delighted with John (Nelms) because we can’t afford to lose someone like Steven, especially at this stage of the season.
“I have to say Steven is aware of it. We’ve told him about it, it’s important he knows these things, but he says he’s got business here to do which is great.
