Dundee will open the new season with a trip to newly-promoted St Mirren after the fixtures for the 2018-19 Premiership campaign were released.
Dark Blues’ boss Neil McCann, who is taking his players to the Algarve for pre-season training, will hope the break in the sunshine will leave them refreshed and ready for the league’s curtain-raiser.
They will, of course, be looking to spoil the Buddies’ party, with the Championship winners unfurling their title flag before the game at the newly-named Simple Digital Arena in Paisley on August 4 .
The first match at the Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park, which has also had a name change, is against Aberdeen before they head to Perth for the first all-Tayside clash of the season against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on August 25.
McCann’s men will enjoy two home games over the festive period with Livingston visiting on Boxing Day and Saints on December 29.
Before the Premiership starts, of course, the Dens men will already have played their Betfred Cup group games against Stirling Albion (a), Dunfermline (h), Peterhead (a) and Brechin City (h).
Tommy Wright’s Saints take on Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in their first league fixture.
It is the same story as last season and the club’s ninth away opening game in the last 12 seasons.
Elsewhere, Dundee United kick off their Championship campaign with a home match against Dunfermline.
The Tangerines, who have added Werner Burger to their coaching staff and been linked with Aberdeen striker Adam Rooney, are looking to make it third time lucky as far as promotions is concerned.
The festive season sees United entertain Falkirk at home on December 22 followed by a short trip to newly-promoted Alloa on the 29th.
There is a tasty clash in League One, with newly-promoted Montrose hosting Angus neighbours Arbroath at Links Park.
