Dundee looking for a ‘few more pieces of the puzzle’

Dundee managing director John Nelms believes “a few more pieces of the puzzle” will see the Dark Blues improve this season.
The first team squad return for pre-season testing at Dens Park today, with four new signings on board.
Although it is three weeks since Nathan Ralph joined Jack Hamilton, Elton Ngwatala and Kharl Madianga in agreeing a move to Dundee, Neil McCann’s transfer business isn’t yet completed.
Nelms said: “With just a few more pieces of the puzzle we have quite a good picture going forward.
“With what we’re doing with the players at the moment and getting ready for pre-season, it seems like the season ended a week ago and all of a sudden we’re back.
“This is the busiest time pf the year for us.
“We are trying to get players in and do things to bolster the team and really get ready for the upcoming season.”
He added: “We are building.
“We have a very good young base to build on and I think if we build on that base it will be very exciting next season.”
Meanwhile, a rumoured Dundee target, former Hamilton Accies midfielder Ali Crawford, has joined Hearts for pre-season training in the hope of earning a contract at Tynecastle.
