Dundee boss Neil McCann last night snapped up striker Jean Alassane Mendy on a two-year deal, subject to international clearance.
The 28-year-old, who is the Dens manager’s fifth signing of the summer, has spent the majority of his career playing in Norway starting out at Elverum, where he scored 27 goals in 25 games for the third tier side in 2013.
That form earned him a move to Kristiansund before going on to play for Eliteserien side Sanderfjord.
He then returned to Kristiansund with further scoring exploits earning him a move to the Belgian top division in January of this year with Sporting Lokeren.
Mendy will now wear the No.11 jersey for the Dark Blues this season.
