Dundee’s move for Shrewsbury Town striker Sam Jones is understood to have fallen through.
Both clubs agreed a fee for the player last week but he has now decided not to join the Dark Blues.
Jones was at Dens on Saturday as Dundee lost to Aberdeen with Neil McCann’s side failing to score.
However, Jones has now travelled back down south and trained with the Shrewsbury squad today.
Dundee’s search for striking reinforcements will continue with the club still being linked with Ayr United front man Lawrence Shankland – who as things stand, will be at Dens this Saturday playing for the Honest Men against the Dark Blues in the Betfred Cup.
