Lifelong Dundee fan Charlie Adam is open to the idea of being part of a new-look management team at Dens Park, Courier Sport can reveal.
The Stoke City midfielder is getting towards the end of his playing career and manager Gary Rowett wouldn’t stand his way if a new opportunity arose.
Adam has never hidden his love for his home town team and has twice played for them in testimonials.
Gutted for Neil Mccann it’s come to this. Everytime I spoke with him he had a clear vision what he wanted. Results haven’t been great. Good luck to the new manager of My boyhood club.#derryrhumba

“That’s me done it twice,” he said previously. “You never know what will happen in the future.”
And it is believed he would now be interested in starting out on a coaching career by assisting an experienced manager at Dundee, as well as playing.
On hearing the news of Neil McCann’s departure, Adam Tweeted: “Gutted for Neil Mccann it’s come to this. Everytime I spoke with him he had a clear vision what he wanted. Results haven’t been great. Good luck to the new manager of My boyhood club.”
Jim McIntyre is the favourite to replace McCann as manager.
