Dundee boss Jim McIntyre admits he faces a race against time to get all his new players battle-ready.
The Dark Blues have brought in a whole team’s worth of signings during the transfer window and the manager’s big task now is to prepare them all for the fight against relegation.
They head to Hamilton this afternoon for a real six-pointer against Accies, who sit just one point above the second-bottom Dens men.
McIntyre said: “I’ve only had a chance to have a wee look but everybody looks fit and raring to go.
“They have been involved with their own squads where they have come from.
“It is important that they hit the ground running.
“My job now is to try and gel them as quickly as possible.
“Just because you have changed the dynamics doesn’t mean there are any guarantees.
“Nevertheless, I am far happier now with the squad I have to take the team forward than what I was before the window.
“It is about me now making sure that these players understand what I am looking for within the system that we play.
“I think if we look at the wider areas we’ve got real strength in depth now and different types.
“I like wide players who are going to get at fullbacks and we’ve signed those types of players.
“We’ve also signed players who can play on both sides and are comfortable in doing that, so that gives you flexibility.”
