Dundee boss James McPake ready to fly home from Spain as wife heavily pregnant

Dundee boss James McPake is still waiting to see if he has to make a dad dash back to Scotland.

His wife Dawn is expecting their new child any day now and McPake finds himself thousands of miles away in Spain.

He is ready to drop everything and put assistant Jimmy Nicholl in charge of the remainder of the trip but so far the phone hasn’t rung.

He said: “I’ve not had a call yet!

“We have plenty of staff members around so it won’t be an issue if it happens when we’re here.

“She is good and hopefully we get the week out the way and get back.

“Then my worry will be with the baby there and we have a real game to go to!”
