Dundee show ‘ambition’ with Gordon Strachan recruitment

Dundee managing director John Nelms believes the appointment of Gordon Strachan is a display of the “ambition” the Dens Park club have.

“The ambition of the club is to go to the next level regardless of the position we’re in in the leagues,” he said.

“We want the best people to get the best outcome. We have a big ambition at this club and bringing Gordon in shows that ambition.

“There’s a lot of work to be done, which has already started.

“It’s exciting for the football club.”

Manager James McPake said: “We’ve got a good group of kids coming through and having Gordon here will help enhance what we’re doing.

“From a selfish point of view I’ll go to him for advice. If you’ve got Gordon Strachan willing to help you, you’d be a fool not to use him.”
