Manager James McPake is backing goalkeeper Jack Hamilton to be a big player for Dundee when the new league seasons starts.
Hamilton will face up to Dunfermline’s frontmen at East End Park on Friday night having kept four consecutive clean sheets in the Betfred Cup as the Dark Blues topped Group D.
The Pars are expected to trouble the former Hearts number one more than Raith Rovers, Cove Rangers, Peterhead and Inverness did in the cup but McPake is confident his goalie can keep his good form going.
The Dens gaffer said: “A special mention must go to my goalkeeper.
“Jack has been great since the end of last season, when I took over.
“I see him every day in training and I know what he brings to the table as a person and as a goalkeeper.
“He has played at a big football club in Hearts and won this league at a team where the scrutiny is 10-fold, in my opinion.
“When you have been at one of those Edinburgh clubs – I know because I have been there (Hibs) – as a keeper that scrutiny gets magnified even further.
“He has to be performing for us and, at the moment, he certainly is.”
