Dundee United are bracing themselves for a Dundee revenge mission in Friday night’s city derby, according to Nicky Clark.
The Tangerines’ forward, who scored in United’s 3-0 defeat of Inverness Caley Thistle on Saturday, knows that the Dark Blues will be determined to make a “statement” in front of their own fans and the TV cameras after they were humiliated at Tannadice in the sides’ first clash of the campaign.
He also knows that their rivals’ recent form curve is the same as their own – three victories on the bounce.
“They’ve had some good results recently as well and obviously they’ll want to make a statement after the last derby,” said Clark.
“We saw bits of their game (the win over Morton on Friday) at our hotel.
“Maybe Graham Dorrans is making a difference for them but we’ll concentrate on ourselves and make sure we have a good week’s training.
“The manager will have a way he wants us to play and it will be our job to execute that game-plan.
“We know it will be tough and we have to be 100%. We’re really looking forward to it.
“It’s not just Dundee who are chasing us. We’re at the top and that’s where we want to stay.”
