Dundee United have struck the perfect balance between defence and attack, according to midfielder Sam Stanton.
Five clean-sheets and 11 goals scored in their recent winning run are impressive statistics for the Tangerines.
And Stanton believes the success at both ends of the pitch is a consequence of paying equal attention to the two sides of football.
“We have our way of playing and I think people are starting to see that now,” said the former Hibs man.
“It is built equally on defensive and attacking strength.
“We never leave ourselves too open and never throw too many bodies forward either.
“We put in a lot of hard work to get a clean-sheet and we press really high up the pitch to win the ball back when we don’t have it.”
Meanwhile, Stanton believes that the United players answered the critics who called them a one-man team by seeing off Queen of the South comfortably without star striker Lawrence Shankland.
“Lawrence is absolutely brilliant for us,” he said. “Everyone knows that.
“A few have said we’re a one-man team but I think Saturday proved that we’re not.
“We played some good football and I think we could have scored more goals than we did. The team is playing really well at the moment which is great.”
Stanton added: “It was important to go nine points clear, which is a nice lead, but there is still a long way to go.
“It’s a lot nicer being in the driving seat than trying to chase and hopefully we can keep that up.”
