The correct decision was made to call off Dundee United’s clash with Morton according to Robbie Neilson.
A pitch inspection took place just after 10am and the Tannadice boss said there was no prospect of the Cappielow pitch being playable by 3pm.
A new date for the postponed Championship game has yet to be announced.
Neilson said: “Morton had done everything to get the game on, but there is no doubt it’s the right decision.
“We appreciate them calling the pitch inspection as early as they did because we have a large travelling support and hopefully most of them will be able to rearrange their day.
“The area of the pitch along the front of the main stand was not going to get any sun and was frozen. We have arranged a training session now to keep the boys ticking over, and we now move focus on to the Alloa game.”
