Dundee United have confirmed the departure of midfielder Sam Stanton to America.
As revealed in The Courier, the 25-year-old will sign for Phoenix Rising.
Stanton made 102 appearances for the Tangerines, scoring 12 goals.
He has played a key role in getting United into a position that their promotion to the Premiership is all but certain, scoring three goals in five games between November and December.
United’s sporting director Tony Asghar said: “We would like to wish Sam all the best in his move to the USA; it is an excellent opportunity for him.
“Since coming to the club, Sam has been an integral part of the playing squad, and this season has played a significant role in the excellent run of form the team are on.
“Sam goes with our best wishes, and as a member of our 100 Club, he will be welcome back to Tannadice at any time.”
