Dundee United sporting director Tony Asghar believes new striker Rakish Bingham will add “pace and power” to the team.
The Tangerines today confirmed the signing of the former Hamilton Accies frontman on a deal, initially, to the end of the season.
The 26-year-old Englishman had his contract with Doncaster Rovers ended last week, freeing him up to move to Tannadice outwith the transfer window.
Bingham played for Doncaster as recently as the match against Coventry City on January 18 so should be ready to go straight into contention for the Tangerines’ next game at Alloa a week tomorrow.
He met his new United teammates at training this morning.
Asghar said: “Rakish is someone we tried to sign last January, so we are pleased to now bring him to United.
“He has pace and power and vast experience in both the Scottish Premiership and the English leagues.
“Rakish is here initially until the summer with a view to extending the contract beyond that.”
