Scottish football’s coronavirus response group has told players and match officials not to shake hands before and after matches.
The guidance to clubs came following the second daily meeting of the group set up by the Scottish Football Association and its league counterparts.
Dundee United‘s head of football administration and legal affairs Laura McCallum wrote on Twitter: “SFA/SPFL Coronavirus Response Group suspends, with immediate effect, the traditional practice of shaking hands between players and match officials prior to and following matches.”
There are 10 SPFL games taking place tonight, including United’s visit to Ayr, Dundee’s home match against Alloa and the Edinburgh derby between Hibs and Hearts.
Seven SPFL fixtures are scheduled for tomorrow night.
