Dunfermline striker Kevin Nisbet is on the verge of signing for Hibs, Courier Sport can reveal.
The long-time Dundee United target is set to complete a move to Easter Road for a fee of around £250,000.
The Tangerines made a substantial bid for the former Raith Rovers man in January and were the first club to table an offer again this summer.
It fell a long way short of the Pars’ valuation of their star man.
United haven’t returned to the race and now have a new manager, of course.
But Hibs owner Ron Gordon has come up with the money to persuade Dunfermline to do business, with the fact that Nisbet has his heart set on the switch and has just one year left on his current deal at East End Park also entering their thinking.
The Courier understands that the deal, subject to a medical, may even be concluded within the next 24 hours.
