Scott Robertson admits he is desperately sad to see what has happened to former club Dundee United.
The Raith Rovers midfielder still has friends at Tannadice and he knows only too well just how much relegation hurts having gone through the miserable experience when he was at Hibs.
Robertson said: “I’m sad to see the situation Dundee United are in – it’s horrible.
“We waited so long for Dundee to get back into the top flight to get the derbies back and now it’s Dundee United’s turn to get relegated.
“I’ve still got a lot of friends at the club and it’s a horrible time.
“I went down with Hibs and it’s a horrible time for the players but also the staff behind the scenes who people don’t realise will be losing their jobs.
“I’ve sent a message to a few of the guys to ask if they’re OK. It’s a hard time.
“Sean Dillon, John Rankin and Paul Dixon were all there when I was there. It’s sad. I know a lot of guys have been told they’re free to go so it will be a very different place next season.”
