Dundee United boss Ray McKinnon has urged rising stars Matty Smith and Cammy Ballantyne to make themselves first-team regulars after the pair agreed new deals.
Smith has signed on until May 2019, while Ballantyne’s contract will now take him up to the end of the forthcoming season.
McKinnon said: “I am delighted that these young lads have committed their futures to Dundee United.
“I look forward to seeing them working hard now to force their way into the first team match day squad on a more regular basis.“
Frontman Smith (19) featured against Partick Thistle and Kilmarnock at the tail end of last season, while defensive midfielder Ballantyne (19) has two substitute appearances to his name.
