Dundee United target Stewart Murdoch has been released by Ross County, clearing the way for his expected move to Tannadice.
A statement from the Staggies read: “We can confirm today that midfielder Stewart Murdoch has been released from his contract here at the Global Energy Stadium.
“Murdoch, who was contracted to the end of the 2016/17 season, leaves the club after making 34 appearances since his debut on the 1st August 2015.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Stewart for his contribution since arriving in Dingwall last summer and wish him all the very best for the future.”
United boss Ray McKinnon is now free to recruit the 26-year-old midfielder for next season’s Championship campaign.
