Ray McKinnon has made his first signing as Dundee United manager.
As expected, midfielder Stewart Murdoch has joined from Ross County on a one-year deal.
The 26-year-old, whose Dingwall exit was confirmed yesterday, will join up with his new team-mates when pre-season training begins later this month.
He played 34 times for the Staggies, having previously been at Falkirk, Berwick Rangers (loan), East Fife (loan), Fleetwood Town and Northampton Town (loan).
McKinnon said: “I am delighted to have Stewart on board. He is exactly the type of player we need going into this season.
“Not only is he the right age and a good footballer but he is a ball winner who is strong in the tackle and will protect our central defenders.
“I am sure United fans will take to him straight away.”
Murdoch said: “I’m delighted to be joining Dundee United. It was an easy decision to make. It’s a massive club and I want to help them get back to the Ladbrokes Premiership where they should be.”
