Dundee United manager Ray McKinnon has stressed that only a “ridiculous” offer for Harry Souttar will tempt the Tangerines to sell.
English Premier League side Stoke City have had a £250,000 bid for the talented and extremely tall 17-year-old central defender knocked back by United.
With “ridiculous” in this sense equating to massive, that means the Potters will have to really dig deep into their cash reserves if the Tannadice men are to even consider letting him go.
“We had an offer, it was rejected and we haven’t heard anything more,” said McKinnon.
“I hope it stays that way.
“Harry is a great prospect and I want to keep him here.
“Unless someone makes a ridiculous offer we won’t be letting him go.”
“He is going to be a very good player and I know a few clubs have already watched him.
“I hope he will be involved in the first team squad this season, but he has still to fill out physically and is still learning.
