Dundee United defender Paul Dixon is “making a bit of progress” in his recovery from a knee injury, manager Ray McKinnon has reported. And the full-back could be in contention for Sunday’s Betfred Cup clash with Dunfermline. Even if the former Scotland international doesn’t recover in time for that one, the signs are he should be back in action sooner rather than later. Dixon picked up the injury against Inverness on Saturday. McKinnon said: “Dicker has not trained this week and we’ll probably leave him until Friday before we try some work. “We’ll decide then if he can make it for Sunday but the main thing is he’s making a bit of progress. “It’s looking encouraging. I don’t think he’s done anything serious.”
