Dundee United fans group ArabTRUST have stepped up efforts to have a face-to-face sit down with new Tangerines owner Mark Ogren.
The trust are keen to meet Ogren when he arrives in the next few days.
They want to discuss his plans for the club and, hopefully, rule out talk of a possible future merger with neighbours Dundee.
“The executive committee is anxious to find out more information about recent announcements at Tannadice and growing media speculation about future developments with our neighbours at Dens Park,” they said in a statement.
“We have requested a meeting with the new directors in order to clarify both our position on key issues and discuss the future plans of our new owners.”
Fears of a merger have increased after news Dundee owner Tim Keyes wants to increase his stake at Dens to over 75%, a move that would end the veto the club’s supporters society holds over a number of matters, including a coming together of the two clubs.
It’s understood, however, Keyes’ move relates to his plans for a new stadium and not any desire to make Dundee a one-club city.
