Dundee United have completed the signing of winger Yannick Loemba on a two-year deal.
The Congolese attacker is Csaba Laszlo’s 12th signing of the summer and, with the arrival of Austrian trialist Toni Vastic yesterday, No 13 might not be far away.
Loemba, 28, joins up after a career in his adopted homeland Belgium, which was followed by a brief spell in Turkey last season with Adana Demirspor.
And his new gaffer believes he will add an alternative to the options he already has in the attacking third.
“Yannick can offer something different to the players already here. He has fantastic pace and loves to run at defences. He is strong on both feet, and I believe he will excite our fans,” said Csaba.
After an unsuccessful spell in the Turkish second tier, Loemba is keen to get going in Scottish football.
“I am happy to be with Dundee United, I am excited to play in Scotland and want to bring joy to our fans,” he said.
Vastic comes in as United look to complete the final part of their rebuilding process since the end of last season.
While Csaba is pleased to have secured the services of strikers Nicky Clark and Craig Curran earlier in the summer, he wants more height in his attack. At well over six feet, the former Blackburn and Bayern Munich kid fits the bill on that score.
And, over the next few days, the coaching staff will see if he is up to scratch in terms of his all-round striking ability.
