Midfielder Scott Fraser is set for a return to action as Dundee United attempt to take another step closer to the play-offs by beating Falkirk at Tannadice today.
Manager Csaba Laszlo has revealed the playmaker was left out of the last two games because of a minor ankle problem.
That’s been a setback as he battles for full match sharpness after his long-term foot injury, but he will be ready to face the Bairns.
And he is set to be involved at some stage during the 90 minutes at Tannadice.
“Scott had some problems with his ankle but he has trained again and he will be a part of the squad, definitely,” confirmed Csaba.
“It his just his fitness in games we must look at now, but slow, slow he is coming back. I think he is good for 45 minutes.”
With Sam Stanton missing out through suspension, there is a chance Fraser could come into the starting line-up.
A more likely option, though, would be to restore Scott McDonald to the starting line-up after his midweek ban and use Fraser from the bench.
Csaba, meanwhile, is playing down talk of United being on a revenge mission for the 6-1 drubbing his team suffered when the teams last met, at the Falkirk Stadium back in early January.
He views winning too important to be clouded by any thoughts of payback for what was probably United’s worst day of the season.
“In this season we have to think always about revenge,” he added.
“Against everybody we have dropped points but against Falkirk it is three very important points we must aim for.
“The most important thing is the three points.
“If you think about revenge, it is a war in which you can go down and maybe you show the wrong aggression.
“It is different if you want to stop someone winning the league than when you want revenge because you lost very badly to someone.
“If we win against Falkirk one-zero I will be happy about it. That will be the revenge enough.”
A second win of the week for United would be the first time since December they’d have been able to record consecutive victories.
It would, though, move them to closer to securing a promotion play-off berth.
