Dundee United boss Csaba Laszlo felt it was a case of two points dropped as his team drew with Dunfermline on Saturday.
It took a freak equaliser from Scott McDonald to earn the Tangerines even that much but Csaba believed over the 90 minutes they were worth all three.
And, had they taken their chances, according to him it would have been.
“We have to score these but I think at the end of the day it was a good game from both teams,” he said.
“We lost two points definitely and I must just make a compliment to the players because they showed attitude and energy. I think also that especially in the second half we made two, maybe three good chances.”
While generally happy with new man Bilel Mohsni’s debut, Csaba did lay the blame on him for Nicky Clark’s second-half opener for the Pars.
“Normally Bilel, he has to go and buy a nice bottle of wine for Scott McDonald because he made a mistake for the goal,” was how the gaffer put it.
Csaba acknowledged Mohsni and fellow recent arrival, on-loan Anthony Ralston, were signed with the help of new English chief scout Paul Sturrock.
And he’s taken time to defend the decision to invite Sturrock to join the coaching staff until the end of the season.
“I am the manager and at the moment Paul Sturrock is a scout for the club, Paul Sturrock is a friend for me and somebody who understands football and we work together.
“Who has responsibility to put the team together and to train the team and move or not move — it is Csaba Laszlo.
“There is nobody 1000% wise. If you go always ‘I know everything’ you are not clever. You must be clever to reach your targets and use knowledge from other people.
“Paul was long-time manager. I can talk to Paul and use Paul. He is not here to make the training, just to give advice.”
After taking just two points from a run of three home games, United now head for the Highlands tonight to face newly-crowned Irn-Bru Cup winners Inverness Caley Thistle.
Defender Tam Scobbie is a doubt for that one after coming off injured at half-time on Saturday.
And Csaba will have to check the fitness of midfielder Scott Fraser after he made his first start in three months.
