Csaba Laszlo will be looking for several of his players to continue their weekend form when Dundee United’s Championship hostilities resume at Livingston next week.
Despite the obvious disappointment at exiting the Scottish Cup at Aberdeen on Sunday evening, Csaba was happy with his team’s second-half performance. And he also feels a number of his big players showed up well.
Csaba was delighted with the displays of the likes of Billy King, Paul McMullan and experienced striker Scott McDonald.
“I was pleased with the performance of Billy King, this is the Billy King I want to see,” he said.
“Maybe one time in the second half he came in from wide and he had to shoot because he has a very good shot.
“He didn’t but I think he had a good game.
“Paul McMullan showed he can create a lot of trouble.
“It is not always the size that is important, it’s also the movement. He scored a very nice goal.”
And on one of the rare occasions in his career when he’s been left out of a starting line-up, Csaba felt McDonald reacted perfectly when he came on.
“I was very pleased with the performance of Scott McDonald. He was, I think for the first time, on the bench.
“He came from the bench and showed spirit and tried to give the team something. He kept the ball very well for us.”
