Dundee United’s Championship title hopes have suffered a massive blow with news Fraser Fyvie is out for the season.
The midfielder suffered a cruciate ligament injury in the first half of the victory over Livingston last weekend and had to leave the field.
It’s now been confirmed he requires surgery to cure the problem and that will see him sidelined for the next six months.
The news is a huge blow to boss Csaba Laszlo, as Fyvie had been one of his standout performers in recent weeks.
The 24-year-old’s absence will be a blow on the park as well as off it with the former Hibs man described as a big character in the dressing room.
Boss Csaba Laszlo previously said: “He is a great guy, a good football player and he is also important for our team, in the dressing-room and on the pitch.”
