Csaba Laszlo is again set to lean heavily on the knowledge of No 2 Laurie Ellis when he makes his selection for his first league outing as Dundee United boss.
That means, when Falkirk visit Tannadice on Sunday, he is likely to revert to the line-up that started the wins over Dumbarton and St Mirren when Ellis was in charge of the team on a caretaker basis.
Csaba has been having a close look at his players in training this week and will not name his team until closer to kick-off.
Having expressed his disappointment that in the Irn-Bru Cup exit to part-time Crusaders not enough of his fringe men staked claims to be elevated to the side for Championship games, he will definitely not be straying far from the side Ellis selected.
With the exception of the injured Lewis Toshney, he has a full squad to pick from. And he has stressed whatever the starting XI, he wants all 18 players on duty for every game to be ready to make a contribution.
“It is very important to know it is not the first 11 who win the game — the bench is very important,” he said.
“You can change the game if you can bring somebody in to make the difference and for this you need the bench.
“You have to have people on the bench, people who are willing to change the game. This is what I want.”
Even as he gets to knowing his players in the coming weeks and months, Csaba has stressed he will take on board the opinions of all his coaching staff when it comes to team selection and tactics.
The final say, though, will always be his.
“It is so that I listen to my staff, I have a fantastic staff,” he added.
“Laurie is really my right hand and we are really at the moment very close to each other all the time and for a long time each day — we have been in early and not leaving until seven.
“I think he can give me a lot of good tips. It is also very important to have my own idea and I have my own idea. It will be a mixture.”
Meanwhile, tickets for the trip to face Brechin City on Saturday next week are now on sale from the club shop at Tannadice.
They are priced at £15 for adults, concessions £8 and £18 for a parent and child ticket. There will also be cash turnstiles on the day.
