Dundee United’s “Jack of all trades” Lewis Toshney has had a course of injections in a bid to clear a nagging knee problem.
Manager Ray McKinnon has revealed to the Tele the versatile defender-cum-midfielder’s fitness levels have been hit by his knee flaring up in games.
“Toshney has been struggling with it. Every time he played his knee was swelling up, so over the last two weeks he’s had a series of injections.
“It was knocking him for six because they are quite strong but he’s been able to train hard and he’s suffered no reaction and that’s encouraging.
“Hopefully it will do the trick because his season has been stop-start but I thought he did well against Alloa on Saturday.
“We used him at centre-half and he’ll tell you that’s what his position is. He showed that but we do see him as a Jack of all trades and it’s good to have him available.”
