Former Dundee United defender Andy Robertson has again been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool.
As has been widely reported in the past, should the 23-year-old leave relegated Hull City the Tangerines would get a cut of his transfer fee thanks to a sell-on clause in the deal that saw him leave for England back in 2014.
With the Anfield giants understood to rate Robertson at £10 million plus, that would mean a seven-figure windfall for United.
There were suggestions then that the breakdown of the move was because the player was aware of Liverpool’s interest and a likely summer swoop by their manager Jurgen Klopp.
With Hull’s relegation to the Championship confirmed yesterday, it looks increasingly likely Robertson will leave The Tigers.
Reports suggest the deal will be formally completed when the transfer window re-opens in the summer.
