Dundee United closed the gap to Hibs at the top of the Championship to six points thanks to a comfortable Tannadice win over Raith Rovers.
Goals either side of half-time from Thomas Mikkelsen and Tony Andreu had the home team in the driving seat.
And a fine 53rd minute header from Dane Mikkelsen sealed a first victory since Christmas Eve.
United were forced to make a change from the side that drew with Dunfermline a week ago when Willo Flood called off through illness. His place in the starting line-up was taken by Simon Murray.
After a quiet start United almost created the first opening when Blair Spittal picked out Murray in the penalty box with a fine pass. The striker’s first touch was poor, though, and the chance was gone.
On the half hour mark Raith were forced to make a change in goal as Kevin Cuthbert limped off injured and Conor Brennan took over.
There was precious little goal mouth action for most of the first half and the best Raith could muster was a Declan McManus header that went a couple of feet too high.
Right on 45 minutes that changed as the home team took the lead.
A Scott Fraser free-kick was saved by Brennan, but when Paul Dixon played the ball back in, Mikkelsen was there to head home his first United goal.
Less than three minutes into the second half it was 2-0.
A strong run down the left saw Dixon send a cross in and after Mikkelsen got a touch, Andreu controlled well before smashing a low shot home from 12 yards.
Number three came five minutes later as Murray crossed from the left at Mikkelsen rose to net with an excellent looping header.
United were well on top and efforts from Spittal and Andreu were just wide of the target. Then Murray sent a 16-yard effort just past with Brennan beaten.
Late on United handed a debut to midweek signing Alex Nicholls and his first touch was a low shot that shaved the outside of the post.
