Dundee United hope to have midfielder Stewart Murdoch back in his usual place against former club Falkirk on Saturday night.
The summer signing from Ross County missed the wins over Peterhead and Dunfermline because of a calf problem.
However, he was not too far away from being fit for East End Park on Saturday and gaffer Ray McKinnon expects to have him in his squad for the tea-time kick-off at the Falkirk Stadium.
“It’s been disappointing for Stewart to miss those couple of games but it was nothing too serious,” he said.
“With another week to recover I think he should be OK for Saturday.”
Ray has been delighted with Murdoch’s performances in his deep-lying role and with the partnership he’s formed there with Willo Flood.
Reuniting them for what’s likely to be the biggest test so far in the Championship would represent a major boost to Ray’s plans for Saturday.
Meanwhile, almost overlooked during Saturday’s penalty save heroics by goalkeeper Cammy Bell, was the fact new signing Tony Andreu grabbed a double at Dunfermline.
It brings his tally to three goals in just two games so far for the Tangerines and shows why the manager fought so hard to bring him on loan from Norwich City for the rest of the campaign.
And Ray will not be surprised if the Frenchman’s prolific start continues.
“I’ve said from the start, Tony can get goals for us and so far he’s been brilliant,” he added.
“And it’s not just goals he’s bringing. He’s helping set up chances as well.”
Tonight, United’s kids are on the road as they head for Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium to take on Motherwell in a Development League fixture.
Tickets for the trip to Championship leaders Hibs on the first Sunday of next month are now on sale from the ticket office opposite Tannadice.
The October 2 clash has been moved for TV and has a noon kick-off.
Saturday’s clash with the Bairns is also live on the box, BBC Alba are showing it, and fans are reminded it kicks off at 5.15 pm.
Entry for that one and next Tuesday’s Betfred Cup quarter-final trip to Greenock to face Morton are pay-at-the-gate.
