United’s betfred last eight date decided

Dundee United’s Betfred Cup quarter-final at Morton has been confirmed for Tuesday, September 20.

It’s the only one of the four ties that will not be televised live.

The same evening will see Rangers play host to Queen of the South at Ibrox, with that game being shown on BT Sport.

The following night the channel will show Celtic’s Parkhead clash with Alloa Athletic.

And television coverage means St Johnstone’s visit to Aberdeen in the tie of the round has been switched to Thursday, September 22.

That means Saints’ Premiership visit to Hamilton Accies will be pushed back 24 hours to the following Sunday.

Aberdeen’s home league clash with Rangers had already been switched to that Sunday and is being shown on Sky.

If United can get past Jim Duffy’s Ton, their Championship meeting with today’s opponents in October will have to be re-arranged.

The Sons are due at Tannadice on Saturday, October 22, but that weekend will see the semi-finals of the Betfred taking place.

Meanwhile, the Tangerines will find out next week who they will face in the Irn Bru Cup.

They enter the competition at the third-round stage with ties to be played on September 3 or 4.

There are no league games that weekend because of an international break.
