Former Dundee United defender Gavin Gunning could be handed the chance to rebuild his career in Romania.
The Irishman has been without a club since he left United in the closing weeks of last season following his bizarre substitution in a league game against Inverness Caley Thistle.
Gunning picked the ball up and walked off after feeling an injury and a few days later left Tannadice by mutual consent.
The defender has since said of the incident: “It was one of those unfortunate things. I just picked the ball up because I was injured. I didn’t want to take any more risks.”
Over the summer he had a trial in America with Orlando City but that failed to produce a contract.
There was also interest in him from Poland.
Now, though, Romanian First Division side CS Concordia Chiajna have him on their radar.
It is understood they will be offering him a contract to move to Eastern Europe and he could be flying out there soon.
